We want to do everything we can to eliminate any unnecessary stressors, which is why we include the option of printing and completing your forms at home. Is Chiropractic Care Safe
Chiropractic is the largest, non-invasive, drugless and safest form of health care available. Statistically, patient risk is substantially lower when receiving chiropractic care as opposed to medical care, where the use of prescription drugs and surgery pose a greater risk.
How Long Will My Visit Take
This all depends on the length and severity of your condition, however, most first visits on average last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Follow-up visits are much less, often as little as 15 to 20 minutes.
How Often Will I Need to Return
At the end of your first visit, Dr. Curtis will determine the best course of treatment for your specific needs. The frequency in which you receive chiropractic care is strictly up to the professional judgment of Dr. Curtis and will vary from individual to individual depending on your presenting condition and overall goals. Just as regular visits to the dentist are necessary for good dental hygiene, routine visits to a Doctor of Chiropractic are also important for proper spinal function and health maintenance.
What To Expect
THE CONSULTATION
This is where you get to share with the doctor a little about you! In addition to reviewing your medical history with the doctor, she will ask you to share more about your lifestyle and your health and wellness goals.
THE EXAM
Based on your presenting symptoms, medical history and consultation, the doctor will proceed with a thorough examination of the joint in your spine and extremities. X-rays of your spine will be taken if none were provided. Their findings during this process, will help guide her to administer the appropriate adjustment(s) needed.
THE ADJUSTMENT
Chiropractors deliver a gentle, non-invasive, non-addictive therapy, known as a chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractic adjustments reduce joint restrictions or misalignments in the spine and other joints in the body in an effort to reduce inflammation and improve function of both the affected joint and nervous system.
CDL and DOT PHYSICALS
Dr. Curtis is a certified Medical Examiner. She performs CDL and DOT physicals on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. The Medical Examination Form and any clearance forms you may need are provided below or can be picked up at our office.
